- Soh Cah Toa is a way to remember the three main trigonometric functions: Sine, Cosine and Tangent
- Once you know them, you can find out a missing side or angle from a right triangle with 3 pieces of information.
- Sine: (SIN) Opposite ÷ hypotenuse
- Cosine (COS) Adjacent ÷ hypotenuse
- Tangent (TAN) Opposite ÷ Adjacent
- Opposite side is across from the angle, Adjacent side is next to the angle and the Hypotenuse is across from the right angle.
- To figure out a missing angle you take the 2 sides that you know, and you figure out what ratio to use (SOH CAH TOA)

- Then you should have this: TAN X = 10÷7
- You move the “TAN” to the other side and make it to the power of -1 then you put it through your calculator (Shift Tan 10÷7)
- Then you found your answer for that Angle.
