Core Competencies:

In my Desmos project, I demonstrated several core competencies, particularly creative thinking, critical thinking, and communication. I used creative thinking to design a unique visual by combining different functions to look like a jungle. This required me to think outside the box and experiment with transformations and different equations to make a differentiable path for something to surf. I also applied critical thinking by analyzing how derivatives relate to slope and using that information to change the angles. Communicating my mathematical thinking was another key part of the process, as I had to clearly represent my ideas visually and organize my expressions in Desmos so others could understand the logic behind my design then I had to prove that it was differentiable by making sure the end points of the different functions were continuous had the same derivative. Through this project, I was able to connect mathematical concepts with visual creativity in a meaningful way.
