I decided to interview Victor Radu, my neighbor who is a civil engineer. He is responsible for managing and supervising projects in the company he works for. I chose to interview him because, I am quite interested in pursuing a career in engineering or architecture in the future. I find this career very interesting and I want to learn more about it. I learned that in the industry it’s not just sitting down, draw and design something and your done. It’s a lot more complex than that, you need to communicate with others and work with a team of architects, engineers and go through a process of revision before anything in the design can be approved. . There always new trends with structures and certain things have to be modified every few years. I love drawing and anything that involves design and creativity and I can see that all of that is a big factor needed in this line of work. Overall, this interview really opened my eyes to the fact that it is not as easy as it looks, you need to be very patient, and have good communication skills. This was a very pleasant learning experience for me and I hope to learn about it even more in the future.
