Tech Team Quarter 1 Reflection + Core Competency

This term, I was mostly in Wave, where I helped students with their laptops. One time, I helped a student who was having issues logging into their device, and I helped figure out the problem and fix it. I spent some of my lunch time and class time helping out and learning how to troubleshoot small tech problems. I learned how to stay calm when someone’s computer isn’t working and how to check simple things first, like Wi-Fi connections or settings.

Some challenges I had were not always knowing what the problem was right away, but I learned that asking questions and trying different solutions helps. A small win for me was when I finally fixed one student’s laptop after a few tries—it felt good to help them and see it working again.

Core Competency: Communication

One of my biggest strengths in this area is that I can communicate clearly and politely when helping others. I always try to listen carefully and make sure the other person understands what I’m saying. I think this helps people feel more comfortable when their device isn’t working.

An area I want to grow in is learning how to solve problems faster and be more confident when fixing different types of  tech issues. My goal for next term is to keep improving my communication skills and be more confident when helping fix devices or talking to teachers about tech problems.
