The equation that I used for my letters was y= mx + b. We have been working with this formula for longer and I felt more comfortable with it then with the one using coordinates. To create a steeper slant I would need to change m to a bigger number and vice versa for a smaller slant. I often needed to try out different numbers for b to see which brought my line to where I wanted it but by the end, I knew roughly what numbers I needed to make something the way I wanted. Thanks to the learning that we did in class, I knew when I needed to use a negative sign to change my slope or change where my line was. I often really needed to zoom in to try and see if my lines met perfectly but once I saw that they did, I was happy. This assignment has helped me gain a wider knowledge all around, but especially in the case of when to use x and y to create vertical and horizontal lines. Overall, I actually really enjoyed this project and the challenge of finding different slopes to create letters in different fonts. I hope you enjoyed my attempt of making my name fun!
