Pathways to Theme One-Pager

This is my One-Pager for our Pathways to Theme assignment. The assignment was to read a children’s book and connect what we saw into theme statements, questions, and drawings. The story I chose was Ted by Tony DiTerlizzi.

Core Competency Reflection

Communication – What could you have done differently and why?

What I thought I could’ve worked to improve on was the type of language I used in this piece, by making it more straight forward and right to the point. Another thing I think i could’ve improved on was the size and amount of drawings I added to my one-pager.

Thinking – What aspects of this activity were challenging?

The text to world connects were difficult for me due to the fact that I couldn’t think of anything other than movie connects. Next time I hope to branch out into real world connects, music connects, poem/poetry connects, and more.

Personal and Social – When you were having trouble with something with the creation of this artifact, what did you do?

When I had trouble connecting certain aspects from this project I thought back to numerous movies and possible shows I’ve either watched or heard of and tried to find a connection through my book and said movie. I also asked peers and family members of movies with a certain theme or topic that connected with my children’s book.
