The photo I chose was the turtle underwater with trash inside of it’s shell. Of course, the meaning is deeper than that. The turtle could possibly be sad about how he has to live, because the colors around it are blue, gloomy, and dull. The colors in the pictures include blue and orange. These colors are across from each other on the color wheel. The author could be saying that the animals habitat and humans waste should not go together just like how the colors contrast. When I see this image I imagine a turtle absorbing all human trash because it has no other choice. The turtle is consuming the trash and it’s slowly affecting it’s health. The way I see this, I think about how humans use land that isn’t theirs or have no use of as their trash can. I think that the lighting in this picture is bright, so it could mean that this was drawn based on a turtle in the ocean during the middle of the day. I noticed that it starts getting darker near the bottom of the picture, and that could mean that the situation could be worse even deeper into the sea. I picture that if you extend the image, there would be a huge pile of plastic bunched and knotted together. In addition to that, seeing this image, it makes me feel sad and heartbroken because this is how humans are these days. I believe that if we keep throwing our trash into the ocean and the nature, the animals will be harmed and may go extinct. Along with that, I think that all animals and their homes should have more respect. In conclusion, I strongly believe that the person who drew and illustrated this picture wanted to spread a message to us and persuade us to stop thinking and start taking action to help our world in a positive way.
