Indigenous Exploration Project – St. Pauls Indian Residential School

REFLECTION

Creating this podcast was a new and exciting experience. I was able to explore many more website I’ve never used before, along with experimenting with video sound apps, like Audacity. Not only that, but I was able to access informative databases from the school libraries website.

Our group’s procedure was to break up and research our issue independently, then compile our results in a group word document. After that, we began writing our script then looked over the parts where we may have made spelling and grammar errors.

The lack of resources and information we could access for the school’s information was one of the very challenges we faced. Although it was a little challenging for the two of us to determine whether the school was a day school or boarding school, we eventually located a reliable website with the information we needed.

Communication: what are some ways that you use to communicate your learning?

I have shared my knowledge in a variety of ways, including sharing all our ideas mannerly and respectfully listening to each other when a person is talking. Overall, I think we did really well on the communication part. One thing we could work on would be working together more often. Most of the time, we operate in various locations and record the data we gather in a shared word document. I feel working together would be better because then we could easily communicate and question the information we found.

  1. Thank you for posting your “Indigenous Exploration” audio project (podcast). As the assignment was completed for both English 9 and COL, I have the following feedback for you on the post:

    – All elements of the assignment’s post were exceptional and properly uploaded
    – Very respectful manner and trigger warning
    – Reflection on blog somewhat explains process taken to complete the assignment, could have been expanded upon
    – Audio quality is clear and delivery is well executed, finding music without the Bensound.com watermark on it would be better, lots of free music options
    – Professional sounding podcast
    – Good job with citations

Overall, this assignment was extremely well done. If you have any questions, please let me know.

    Thank you!
