Phorgum Assignment

Phorgum

This how our group organized the cards we were given:

I know, it may look a bit confusing at first, but you just have to think of it as a game of scrabble (sort of). Everything is connected in some way.

How we did it

We started out by separating the liquids, solids and gases and making them into rows. The substances that had unknown reactions, the ones with no reactions, and the ones with reactions to acid all went together. Once these were organized, we put all of the white substances, the black substances, and the brown substances together.

After those were organized into rows, we arranged them so that the number of Grobles and Bargs went from smallest to largest. The number of Phems went from largest to smallest. You have to be careful when you look at it, though. The spaces in between the cards are not accidental, it just mean that it’s a separate category.

The reason  I say it looks like scrabble is because everything is connected in some way. Just look at the horizontal column on the left hand side of the table. ‘Qdal’ and ‘Brep’ both have different properties, but ‘Peng’ links them both together.

I think our arrangement is the best because it links everything together. Every detail of each element is included in it, and it all works.

Reflexion

I actually really liked this assignment. At first, it looked like it was going to be really hard to make everything fit, but it wasn’t. In the end we understood everything.  It was also nice to deal with something that may be similar to the periodic table.
