Electric House 3D Print Solution Fluency – ADL23

Define – A problem in our electric house that could be solved by technology is that the battery keeps on slipping off of the desired area we wish to place it. There is no individual location for the battery as it is loosely placed amongst all the wiring. Our group decided to place the battery on the roof of the house because it can easily access connection to all the wires.

Dream – Some possible solutions to this problem could be placing a box/shelf along the side or roof of our house so that the battery will be stable and won’t move or disconnect. Another idea could be to attach the battery to the roof using tape or even hot glue.

Deliver – Our solution to the problem is to create a small box with an opening at the front and top in order to keep the battery secure and easy to access.

Our progress on TinkerCAD:

Our final product (with and without battery):

Debrief – The process of creating and using this product was successful. It simply stores the battery in place. An improvement we could implement could be to make the box a little bit wider so that there is more room for the battery, since it’s a bit tight. But otherwise, we think that the process of 3D printing our design was fairly successful.
