In Week 9 of Pre-Calc, we learned how to change the General form (y=ax^2+bx+c) into standard form (y=a(x-p)^2+q) or factored form (y=a(x-x1)(x-x2)) because it is easier to graph an equation if it is in standared form and you can find the x intercepts (roots) in factored form.

*if their is a coefficiant in front of the x^2 then when you complete the square both of the squared numbers have to be in the brackets
