Sgrafitto Tile

So my group and I decided to do a Fauna Sgrafitto Tile. My group consists of Steph, Madison, Em, and me.

So the vision me and my group had for the Sgrafitto Tile Project was to make a web and have all the different strings on it connect with each other to create a bigger picture. In each tile, the font of the web, the animal, and the world changes and it opens up a bigger door for imagination. Each different web is from a different dimension but when put together all links up to create a cool image.

Each persons process of making the tile was different. Mine wasn’t too smooth. I encountered some roadblocks like clay drying problems and putting on too much underglaze on my tile. To fix my first issue I got a sponge to wet my clay so it could be  smoother in the tile-making process. To fix my second roadblock with putting on too much underglaze, I had to scrape and dust off excess underglaze once fully dried, and do some more touch-ups to the corners.
