Should Sam have continued to where the skirt?

What risks would you take to play on a sports team? Yes, Sam wore a skirt just to fit in on his team. But he made the right choice here is why… In the book “Sam the Athlete” we learn about a boy anxious to start middle school “middle school was going to be just as horrible as elementary school” Sam thought. All Sam wanted was to be an athlete but no matter what he tried he failed at, until he tried field lacrosse. Sam doesn’t find out until the end of his first practise that he is playing for a girls team but is so happy with the sport that he doesn’t care. Sam shaves his legs and wears the team skirt to fit in, and in the process he realizes that he doesn’t mind dressing like a girl “anyone can become comfortable in a skirt and Sam’s skirt was making him so happy”. Most of the story Sam is trying to fit in and is looking for guidelines or rules to follow. But when Sam ignored the stereo types he found himself having a really good year of middle school and a really good season of field lacrosse, “Sam had always had trouble figuring out the rules, but maybe just maybe, he wouldn’t have to anymore”.
