Holocaust reflection
The holocaust happened because there were many different invasions in different areas in Europe, then the Jews that were living in those areas were prosecuted. An example is the invasion of Poland, before 1939 there was little to no Jews prosecuted from Poland. All of a sudden after the Germans invaded Poland, you can see many People from Poland being prosecuted.
Group, location, and events impacted a persons experience because after 1939 there were so many more people being prosecuted that the camps would have started to become more crowded and there was probably more people killed in them to control the amount of people in them. Group could impact a persons experience because if they are grouped with more elderly and sick people, instead of healthy and Young people that can work, they might be more likely to be killed because they can’t work so the Germans wouldn’t see the point in having them live.
Round table reflection
1. My groups ideology was fascism. Some details that I learned were: how almost everything has to be done for good of the nation, how they will do pretty much anything to make sure that their national wealth is high, and how they want to be able to control almost anything that they can.
2. Some ideas that my group came up with were: how fascism supports immigration as long as the immigrants are willing to fuse/convert their culture with the leading culture. We also came up with how they promise to protect their economy through whatever is happening. For example one of the topics in the discussion was what our group would do when there was increase in demand of food, clothing, and shelter, so my group said how we would control wages and prices to make sure that that would never happen.
3. What I found interesting about the activity was how a lot of the groups actually had the same ideas for a bunch of the topics but were all separate in the ways that they would deal the topics.
4. What I found challenging was finding out how a fascist group would deal with different topics because I had a bit of difficulty understanding exactly what fascism was. But after I understood what it was, it was easier to know how they would deal in different situations.
