In this assignment, I and my partner conducted an experiment on paper airplanes. We tested the distance of 3 paper airplanes, with each one being made from a different-sized paper. Our research question was “How does the size of the paper affect the distance the paper airplane flies?” Our hypothesis was that the smallest one would fly the furthest and the largest one would fly the shortest because of its weight. After the experiment, our results showed that the medium-sized plane flew the furthest. This happened because the larger plane had too much drag because of its weight while the smallest one did not glide well because of the size of its wings. We could have found more accurate results if we had a larger variety of planes, all with different sizes. One question remains – What is the perfect size for a paper airplane?
