Here is my group podcast on the Sechelt residential school. (St. Augustine’s)
Reflection:
My experiences creating this project were very enlightening. I found this assignment to be an eye-opening experience. Once I understood the information I was researching, I found it to be a very enjoyable activity. I think it’s very important for everyone to know about what happened many years ago, especially if you live in Canada. My group was very efficient in creating this podcast, we enjoyed it greatly which helped speed up the process. We had a few obstacles and setbacks, but we overcame them with ease. For example, we had trouble trying to record lengthy paragraphs at once, so to overcome this, we cut up the lines into smaller pieces and recorded them like that. Another problem we had was that there was very little information online about the Sechelt residential school. To overcome this, we used our school’s online library to use databases such as Gale and Pro-Quest to find helpful information. For my core competency, I chose option 2: What are some ways you use to communicate your learning? I used and created a podcast with my group to show my learning. I also used a written reflection of my feelings and thoughts about this assignment.
