Math 10 Week 7: Difference of squares

Difference of squares is hard to explain in words, so let me just show you what one would look like.

This is a Difference of square, notice that both terms are perfect squares.  To factor the square, you will want to turn the terms into their square root (remember that the number will always be negative if it is a difference of square, so one of the numbers will be negative).

The square root of x squared would be x and the square root of -25 is -5 and +5

Bigger numbers like 144 t squared – 121 would equal to (12x – 11) (12x + 11)

That is difference of squares which is simple once you get to know it better.

So next time, we are doing…………Relations, hope I can relate to it. See ya next week!
