Looking back at your first semester, what are some things you enjoyed or/are proud of? Describe any meaningful experiences you’ve had.
Some things that I am proud of from my first semester are some videos that we made for my Conversations 10 class. Especially the final project, the 10-12 minute TV show that we made. My group members for this project were Morgan Oliver and Gabby Comartin. It was nice to be able to work with friends and be able to strengthen my friendship with them.
Do you have any questions or concerns? What has presented a challenge for you thus far? Do you know where you can go for help socially/emotionally and academically? Is there anything in regards to technology you are struggling with and is so, do you know where to seek assistance?
The only thing that has really presented a challenge for me thus far is keeping up with homework, and sometimes in making new friends as I didn’t always have people I knew well in my classes this semester. Although it was difficult to step out of my comfort zone at first, I am glad because I have founded some new friendships. I do know where to go for help if I am struggling, my counselors name is Mr. Ahmelich. He seems very nice.
Have you been able to get involved in our school community? What are your ideas about how you can get further involved? Is there someone or a particular area of the school where you are connected?
My hope for this year at Riverside is to join the girls soccer team in the spring time. I already play a lot of soccer outside of school as I play on a U15 Gold Select team, therefor this will probably be the only sport I will be joining at Riverside this year. I am also signed up for Green Shirts, however I have not had the opportunity to participate in any activities yet, although I am looking forward to participating in several activities in the future.
What is one assignment that you are proud of/or learned a great deal from that you can show in your Digital Portfolio and/or Core Competency Self-Reflection?
A project that I am proud of would definitely be my Graphic Novel project from Art Foundation 10. The Core Competency for this project can be found on my edublog, underneath the Core Competency Self Assessment Section.
Looking forward, what are some things you want to accomplish by the end of the year while here at Riverside?
I would really love to have the opportunity to play on the girls soccer team in the springtime. I would like to keep up good grades in the next semester, and I would love to make more friends.
