Modeling Mitosis Lab

This diagram represents the cell when it is in a stage called interphase. When a cell is interphase it functions as it normally should.

This diagram represents the cell when it is in a stage of mitosis called prophase. When a cell is in the prophase stage of mitosis, the nuclear membrane dissolves, and  spindle fibers attach to the sister chromosomes.

This diagram represents the cell when it is in a stage of mitosis called metaphase. When a cell is in the metaphase stage of mitosis, the chromosomes align themselves with the help of the spindle fibers in the center of the cell.

This diagram represents the cell when it is in a stage of mitosis called anaphase. When a cell is in the anaphase stage of mitosis, the chromosomes are pulled apart by the spindle fibers and to opposite sides of the cell.

This diagram represents the cell when it is in the last stage of mitosis called telophase. When a cell is in the final stage of mitosis, telophase, two nuclear membranes form individually around the separated chromosomes.

This diagram represents cytokenisis. The cell that was originally one, divides into two different complete cells.
