Hi! My name is Alexa and I am so excited to become apart of the Riverside community this year! I love reading and writing, animals, soccer, photography and meeting new people! I am also a french immersion student and have been in the french immersion program since kindergarten. I can’t wait to see what these next four years have in store for me and the new people I will meet!

This is my favorite quote because even though bad things may happen, they happen for a reason. Everybody makes mistakes, and that’s ok. It’s about what you do after, what you take away from each situation and experience you have and what you learn from them. That these hard times will give you a better perspective, more experience, and skills on how to deal with the next challenges that you will encounter.

The video that I have chosen that is connected to the link above is a video composed by the Day Break Point Bible Camp that I have attended every summer since I was in Grade 6. There are multiple weeks, but that video is from week 7, Camp 7, the camp that I attend. The Camp is on Anvil Island and that year was my favorite by far. That camp has changed my life and Anvil is a huge part of my life.

 

A Picture That Has Impacted Me:

I chose this image because I took it this summer when I was at camp. I was lucky enough to be able to attend camp this year for 2 weeks instead of 1. The first week I was there I was serving as a LIT Rover, which is like a staff member in training. Everybody up at camp is a volunteer except for the lifeguards who stay up there all summer, so it was incredible to be able to work along side people who were giving up their time to give the kids coming up to camp the best experience possible. All of the people I was working along side and learning from are people who I look up to and feel so lucky to have been able to meet them. It reminds me and shows me what kind of a person I aspire to be. This picture reminds me of that week.

My favorite website would have to be Pinterest because it has so many cool ideas on it. I think that it is a great social media platform because you can look at such a wide variety of things, so anyone can find something that they are interested in on there.
