Wave Lab – Physics 11

Pulse wave – A wave that is non-repeating, making it only have one disturbance.

Periodic wave – A wave that happens at regular intervals, and need more than one disturbance.

Longitudinal wave – A wave where multiple rounds of the spring are put close together and then let go.  For this wave, the disturbance must always be in the same direction as the direction of travel.

Transverse wave – A wave where the spring is pulled towards the side in order to create a right angle, it is then let go. The disturbance that is created is at the right angle.
