Digital Footprint
1) How might your digital footprint affect your future opportunities? Give at least two examples.
- If you’re applying for a job, most companies can find information about you online by using search engines like Google, and social media. If that happens, you’ll lose your opportunity getting hired because you posted something that’ll make you be unsuitable for their company.
- As for school, you can get suspended or even expelled if you posted that aren’t age appropriate.
- There’ll be less chance of being successful or getting a job/in school by doing something unlikable or inappropriate online.
2) Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe.
- Private your account.
- Think before you click on what you’ll post.
- Make sure you only add people you know on your social media accounts.
3)What information did you learn that you would pass on to other students? How would you go about telling them?
- When we envelop ourselves into the social media world we give up a lot of control over what happens about each of us. The best way we could do about it is to filter what we are going to put/post online.
Thank you for sharing your commentary on how to monitor your online use and how to maintain a credible digital footprint. Below are some observations about your post:
– Details or explanations answer the three questions regarding responsible online use
– Includes appropriate photos or media as instructed
– Post is completed
