The picture I selected was number 3 “The Arrival: The New Country” created by Sean Tam. Based of the giant statue hand shaking, the main theme is collaboration and at the bottom of the right statue has a basket and food and left bottom of statue has vase, briefcase. I think that the right statue is like a colony with a lot of food, but a bad economy and the left statue is a colony with a better economy but less food. When putting those ideas in mind, the handshake stands for partnership between both colonies to make each other better. Now to the boats, the boats are most likely transporting people as the look more like ferries and everyone on the boardwalk or dock look like they are about to travel so I think they are ferries. The city in the background seems kind of advanced but kind of not, it is extremely unique architecture. Based off of everyone’s clothes in the picture, it looks very classy, but the buildings don’t so that is quite cool. And blacks, greys, and white make the photo look old and awesome looking. So that is what I think of the picture and what I think it is.

Grammar Video Project “Complex and Compound/Complex Sentences”

Hello, I’m Aiden and me and Michael made a video on 2 types of sentences, complex and compound/complex sentences. It was a very fun project to work on I like the outcome of it. Now I’m going to tell you what a complex sentence is and what a compound/complex sentence is

So, a Complex sentence is a sentence made up of a dependent thought and an independent thought. The independent thought and the dependent thought can go in any order, as long as the idea get out right. Here is an examples

“When Obi-Wan was fighting Grevious, he didn’t that he would using a gun.”

The first part was a dependent sentence, and the second part was an independent sentence.

“When he lost his hands, Anakin was in so much pain.”

The first part was an independent sentence, and the second part is a dependent sentence.

A compound/complex sentence is when you have 2 independent clauses or more and at the very least, have at least 1 dependent clause. Here are some examples.

“During a harsh rainstorm, I was outside, and doing my job.”

The “During a harsh rainstorm” was a dependent clause and the “I was outside and doing my job” were the independent clauses.

“After losing Leia, the rebellion was more motivated, to fight back.”

“After losing Leia, the rebellion was more motivated” was an independent sentence and the “to fight back.” was and dependent thought.
