Solution Proposal

Co-Design

On Feb. 2nd we had a zoom chat with Saul Mwame. He is a beekeeper from Tanzania and CEO of a beekeeping company called Haven Bees. Later in year on April 18th, Saul came to our class to have a talk with all of us. We talked about beekeeping problems and issues and asked him questions like “How did you feel when speaking at the UN.” He talked about how slow business is outside of Tanzania.” The experience was cool as I hadn’t someone come into my class in so long. A problem me and my group are going try and fix is the hive itself so that honey badgers and other predators can’t break into it.

Co-Operate

To start this project, we needed to research what material you need to make a hive and how to make one. How can we make a hive if we don’t know how. Samuel’s aunt is a beekeeper so he will reach out to her and get some info about the hive. Step 1. Brainstorm idea, Step 2. research about hives, Step 3. Design our hive, Step 4. assemble the product, step 5. hand it in.

Co-Create

Some of our ideas were just protect the hive from honey badgers, but we decided to make a climate controlling hive. We will need coding skills for the heating and cooling system of the hive. Building skills for the making of the hive. Some item we will need are a laptop, microbit, phone for photos.

Commemorate

Idk, were still learning and the quality of this post average and probably could of added more writing.

  1. Thanks for your explanation of how you used the collaboration lens to address issues that Saul, our beekeeping Tanzanian friend, shared when he visited our class. Good work considering solutions to your issue. Consider sharing sources of your research and images of your plan for a climate-controlled hive. Draw some rough pictures or use a design program to how what it might look like. How could the knowledge you gained about solving this problem help you with problems in the future?
