For my second inquiry project, I want to develop my skills on the wheel as well as slab work.
I think I’ll be able to do this by using my spare time outside of class, for otherwise, I would not be able to fit it in. I plan to come in 2 or 3 times a week at lunch to work on my wheel work. As for the slab/pinch work, my family recently purchased some clay from The Clay Warehouse, meaning I can work on the welding part of the projects and bring them into class for firing and glazing.
I plan on making 2 pieces (probably mugs) on the wheel and a pair of pinch mugs.
The criteria for the completion of this project will be:
- Are the pieces functional?
- Did I develop my wheel skills while doing this project?
- Did I develop my overall pottery skills while doing this project?
- Do I find the pieces satisfactory; did I do my best?
