Custom Paper Mache Award Process

Here is the initial sketch for the Award:

May 30th– This week I made the base for my Award on the wheel. I stuck four chopsticks and let it dry as is, then I bisked it. I plan on either leaving it unglazed or painting it in acrylic.

June 6th– I made the aluminum base and part of the paper mache today. At first, it was a bit tricky to mould the shape I wanted to make out of the foil, but then I realized I forgot to put the chopsticks onto the base. Doing that made everything much easier, and I got the hang of it really quickly. My goal for the upcoming week is to add a few more layers and then paint.

June 10th– Today I made the wire part of the project. I made the lightbulb and the face, as well as painted the first few layers. The wire was a bit difficult to work with, and I had to figure out my way with the wires. But- it’s almost done!

June 13th– Today I finished my project! I added the final touches of paint and connected the face feature to the actual product. I really like how it looks!
