Over the past year, I’ve really dived into the world of ceramics and watched many talented artists through the internet.

The project I chose as my goal is a piece that I found through Pinterest by Julian Camillo Gomez.

Other than the fact that these little creatures resemble the characters called Kodama from my favorite comfort movie, Princess Monononke, I think this would be a good learning experience and project for me as a beginner in ceramics because I do not know as of yet how to sculpt facial structures, bodies, and moreover, different emotions. Although I am familiar with withdrawing these things, it would be so interesting to make these characteristics come to life through 3D.

I’m really excited for this class, and I cannot wait to further my understanding of this art form that I do not know much about as of now.
