How you figured out what equations to use?
- Throughout this project I mainly use constant, linear, quadratic Functions. And the reason why I know what equation to use is because, whenever I see a line that needs to be drawn, I ask myself; Is line straight? Is the line on an angle? Or Is the line curved? With those simple questions I can usually tell me what type of equations I will need to use.
Did you have any challenges?
- I did have a couple of challenges. One of the main challenges that I faced during this project is colouring/ shading. The teacher had originally posted a link of a hack to add more colours, but after trying several times it wouldn’t work. So, I decided to contact Desmos customer services. Thankfully, the people at Desmos reply quickly and I was able to find a new way of getting a colour.
Any aha moments?
- This kind of relates back to the last question. When I was stuck on trying to find a new colour, the aha moment was when I realise that I could contact Desmos customer services.
Did you get help?
- Throughout this project I didn’t really get any help, except the time where I got help from Desmos.
Did you use any strategies?
- I did, the main strategy that I used is planning out the project. Throughout this project I had a schedule on what I am going to do each day. This was helpful because I was able to visualize what I am doing each day.
How did this assignment help you understand more about transformations of functions.?
- The main reason that this assignment helps me understand the transformations of functions is the practices. In total I had, over 600 equations. Through all the practise one thing that I learned is that whatever you add or subtract at the end of an equation it just changes the equation on the y- axis. This is why, I think that this assignment helps me understand a lot more about the transformations of functions.
