Community connection

The person I interviewed was the Coquitlam Metro Ford Soccer Club BCSPL goalkeeper coach Richard, His role as a goalkeeper coach is to evaluate and make sure his players reach their full potential, it’s also his responsibility to make sure we stay focused in training and don’t slack off.

Richard Meister

I chose to interview him, because I am also a soccer goalie and he’s my goalie coach, and I also love the sport of soccer in general and maybe even one day, I would love to coach younger goalkeepers one day too like Richard.

One thing that I’ve learned from interviewing him is that he loves his job, he loves coaching and it’s his passion. I’ve also learned that he loves goalkeeping and the sport of soccer in general. This connects to my passions and interests because my passion is to be a pro soccer goalie and then after, I want to be a goalkeeper coach for the youth, and this interview showed me what it’s like to be a goalkeeper coach.

This is one of the questions that he answered in my interview that really stayed with me, this is because I can how much this is true, because when I go to goalkeeper training with Richard, I feel comfortable over there and ready to train and give %110 but that is only because I have a good relationship with him and the other goalies there which makes a good work environment. After this interview, I feel that opportunity for me in the future is to be a goalie coach. This is because I really love this sport, and I would love to pass down what I know to the next generation of goalies.

What questions did you need to research in order to create your sway?

I needed to research my elements common uses, melting point, boiling point, and how was it discovered.

What new or familiar digital tools did you try to use as you worked through this project?

This  was my first time doing a sway so that would be new and this was also my first time using and ebook to gather information.

What was the process you used to investigate the topic and how did you verify and cite the information you found?

For most of the assignment, I used and ebook so it gave me citations on the page, but there were some questions I couldn’t find on the ebook so I used thought.co which had cites on the page for me also.

How did the process of completing this challenge go? How could you have done better?

The process was really good, I’m thankful for picking a popular element so I had to use very minimal sites to gather information. One thing I could’ve done better is use more sites to give more detail on the questions.

Digital Footprint

Footprint 2023

How might your digital footprint affect your high school experience?

Your digital footprint could affect your high school experience if for say, you posted something racist or publicly offensive online and it goes viral and lots of people share it, it could spread to people in your high school then, that could tarnish your school imagine and even affect your chances of going to collage.

How can your phone have a positive and negative impact on your learning?

Negative ways your phone can affect your learning is if you are really addicted to your phone, you could be more focused on it that learning or even use it while learning. Also, since blue light reduces sleep quality, you won’t be able to learn because you need sleep to stay focused. A positive impact phones can have on my learning is that you can access the internet through your phone so you can use it to enhance your learning capabilities.

What elements of school culture are necessary for you to be successful both academically and socially?

Two elements of school culture I need to be successful both academically and socially is hard working and communicative because when your hard working, you can do anything or complete anything which would make you academically successful. When you are communicative, that means you can speak with confidence which could also help you out academically as well as socially.
