I interviewed Lindsay Wilson, she is a professional dancer, choreographer, adjudicator, and studio owner. I chose to interview Lindsay because in the future I want to do something that involves dance and I know that she has done lots of things that I’m interested in.
Question 1 What advice would you pass on to someone interested in what you are doing?
I’ve learnt that you can be passionate about your role because you can share that passion with others by teaching them about your passion it connects to me because one day I want to be able to teach others about my passion and share that passion with them.
Question 2 What advice would you pass on to someone interested in what you are doing?
I learnt that nothing you do is the wrong way and that for lots of types of dances, there is no right or wrong way to do it it’s how you interpret it and that’s why it’s a form of art. It connects to me because, for some types of dance styles, you need to be able to have the right technique to be able to do it properly so that is why I take ballet classes.
Question 3 Can you explain your roles and responsibilities in your current position?
I learnt that as a dancer you can play many different roles what you do this connects to me because I a lot of the time like to change my mind on what I want to do so having multiple choices of what I can do is good for that.
Question 4 What obstacles have you faced to get you to where you are today?
I learnt that you need to trust others to have a studio that works well that connects with me because when I dance in a group we all have to trust each other to be able to do our dances together.
Question 5 What’s your favourite part about being a dancer?
I learnt that even the bad parts of dance can even be the good parts when you get nervous they can be the bad part about going on stage and the good part at the same time. This connects to me because I like to perform on stage too but sometimes I do get nervous which just reminds me that I care a lot about how I’m going to do on stage.
Question 6 How do you balance your personal life and your dance life?
I learnt that even if you have a good balance you still need to plan ahead and make sure you’re leaving enough time for your personal life. I connect to this because its hard for me to find time for my personal life between school and dance the only personal time I have is at weekends and when Im sleeping.
