One day in Mr. Robinsons’ science class we were doing a science experiment and we had to use test tubes to put some chemicals in, a heating pad to heat them up a ring stand, safety goggles to protect our eyes, and tongs to hold the test tubes with. one of my friends had done this experiment before and someone in there class hadn’t worn goggles and they got the chemicals in their eyes but they knew what to do and went straight to the eye washing station and their eyes ended up being ok after they washed there eyes for 15 minutes.
When I did the experiment someone in the class wasn’t paying attention to the safety rules during class and where just following everything everyone else was doing they saw some sorta clear liquid on the table and tried to wipe it up with a paper toilet but it turned out to be some sorta chemical and it ended up burying their hand and didn’t know what to do because they were listening and they ended up having to go to the hospital because they burnt their hand after the incident.
We ended up finding out what the chemicals were and on the chemical packaging it had a corrosive symbol so that’s why their hand got burnt there was a poison pictogram on the chemicals which means its poison also we found a flammable symbol on it and a harmful pictogram on it which indicates that it’s harmful. After the incident happened everyone was in a dilemma about if it was their fault that they tried to clean it without knowing what it was or if it was the class before fault because they didn’t clean up the table properly and left the spill there.
Good work on your fictional safety story. You communicated your understanding of safety issues in the Science class and included many pieces of scientific equipment. Don’t forget to label your safety symbols and tell a detailed Science ethical dilemma. Whose job it is to clean up messes isn’t really an ethical dilemma.
