Period Table Feedback Reflection

What I know well about the periodic table

Something I know well about the periodic table is where the elements are placed like the different families and periods and how they work each family has it is it its own vertical line and each of them is labeled with a number and each family has the same amount of valence electrons. I also know the difference between a physical change and a chemical change physical change is when you change something but it’s still the same thing you cut a piece of paper in half even though you cut it in half it’s still a piece of paper. A chemical change is when you make a new substance out of other substances it can also have a chemical change like foaming releasing gases change in temperature extra. I can make Borh models by seeing the periodic table and understanding what it would look like and how I can make it into a proper Bohr model and having all the electrons in the right spots like in the first shell you can only fit two then the second shell

What I still need to work on regarding the periodic table

I need to work on my understanding of how the inside of the atoms and the difference between nucleus, neutrons, electrons, and protons the only thing I kind of know about it is that protons are positive and electrons are negative. I do have to still work on the Alkali Metals, Alkaline Earth Metals, Halogens, and Noble gases because I don’t really know the difference between them the only thing that I really know about them is that Noble gases are gases and Alkaline Earth Metals have two valence electrons, it is ductile, it’s malleable and very reactive but for all the rest of them, I need to work on my understanding about them a bit more.

What I wonder about the periodic table

I wonder why they chose to have not the Bohr models of the elements shown on the periodic table because for me it definitely helps me understand it when it’s there. I wonder why the family’s numbers don’t go up higher like on the top because there is the floating island still on the bottom that’s supposed to be in the middle so if each of those is also in their own family why would they have their own family numbers too?

What goals I will set to understand the periodic table better

Some goal that I will set to better understand the periodic table is to ask more questions if I don’t understand something about the periodic table. When I’m not really getting something to discuss with the people at my table so that we can all get a better understanding of the periodic table because a lot of the time it’s easier just to talk to other people and brainstorm with them to have a better understanding. Another goal of mine is to learn what the different properties are there of Alkali metals, Alkaline Earth Metals, Halogens, and Noble Gases and learn what they are.

  1. Very good job analyzing the data you received about your knowledge of the periodic table. Awesome to see you set learning goals that you shared with others who can help you. This will definitely help you succeed in your understanding of Science.
