This week in math 10 we learned how to convert one equation to another. The three equation are point slope form which is shown like this: m(x+x1)=y-y1, and the slope y-intercept form, mx+b=y, and lastly general form mx+b=0.

so once we have an equation that starts in either point y-intercept or point slope form, we can result it into general form. Only when the equation is in slope y-intercept and point slope form is when you can moved forward and solve for the final general form.

From here you will distribute the four into the brackets to get this:

those two lines show that we move the y and 5 and put it onto the other side to turn it into not only negative but also into an equation that = zero. you wouldn’t move the 4x only because it would become negative and with general form the starting x must be positive.

from here you collect all the like terms to create a simpler equation.
