The past week we learned about analyzing a graph and figuring out how to find the x- and y- intercepts on a graph. We also learned about how to determine the coordinates on graphs and how to order them. One thing I found hard to remember was the vocab that came with each question and even answers.

Linear: being organized or arranged in a specific way. (mostly straight)

x axis : This is the line that is going horizontal on a graph and shows negative to positive. Also known as the input.

Domain: when you see the word domain you know it is the x axis. which is basically the coordinates of the input.

y axis : This is the line that is vertical going up and down on the graph this shows the negative and positives as well. This line is also known as the output.

Range: While being talked about you should understand it is referring to the y axis. Starting at 0 and ending at a specified number.

Discrete: having a bunch of spread out dots and not having them “organized” or in a specific spot.

Continuous: being able to add a straight line following the points through the graph

Quadrants I, II, III, IV: These are the four squares created within your graph and shown to help us understand which quadrant(s) coordinates are in.

independent variable: when any number has something that needs a dependent. (the weight of something is independent to the price)

Dependent variable: when a number is dependent one something to refer to. (the price of something is dependent on the weight)
