Dear wife,

I miss you as well.  I am doing well and i have become a very good pilot.  I have shot down 6 enemy planes and I am now an ace.  Many of my comrades that are pilots have died because the planes are very unreliable and stop mid-flight. I am almost scared to fly now because the Germans have an ace pilot called The Red Baron.   But I have a good position, I am lucky that i could become a pilot.  The soldiers have it worse, they basically live in the trenches, the diseases spread very quickly in there.  The sailors also are getting killed from U-boats sinking our ships and the supplies aren’t making all the way across the Atlantic.  I heard from a friend that Germans and Austrians are being interned because of the war measures act, what have you heard about this?  I think its wonderful that women are starting to work to support the war effort.  I also think that you should use some of our savings to buy victory bonds to support the CEF and the war.

I’d give this letter a 5/6 because it doesn’t really show knowledge of the war measures act, it just gives a definition of it.
