Foods 12 September Lab Reflection

It’s been one month since I took the Food And Nutrition 12 class. We made a lot of food every day and we have fun. It is always the most relaxing and exciting class of my whole day and I’ve learned a lot!!! The lab I want to reflect the most is the Biscotti and Lattes. Because it was the first product I made with my new group and we had a lot of fun. Angel thought that the color of the biscotti looked like some kind of animal called ‘Macaco’ in Spanish, so he called ‘Macaco’, which has a very strange but funny pronunciation. Then we all started to call it ‘Macaco’. This is a joke that only we can get, hahaha.
This lab is not very hard. Here is the mise-en-place:

I cut the almonds and washed some bowls. We used an electric whisker to combined the butter and other solid ingredients, I tried it, it was heavy and after about 2 minutes I was exhausted, Sofia helped me with it, she’s a very nice person. And Daniel and angel helped us to shape the dough, which was not very good looking. Anyway, cooperation plays a very important part in the teamwork, I think a person can do anything if he is in an organized group. In our group, whenever someone has a problem, others always help him or her, so we didn’t have any problem at all.

The next day Ryan and Sofia cut it and we tasted it with the hot chocolate and coffee we made. It was not as sweet as I thought before, because it was my first time to eat the biscotti. And the coffee was great but I thought the biscotti should be had together with something sweeter than Mocha. So, if I do it next time, I may put a little more sugar in it and have it with a sweeter drink. But it’s always good to eat the food you made by yourself, so it had a good taste in my opinion.
