Hero’s Journey Short Film Project

Reflection:

The theme of our story is that we need to value the time we spend with our family in our everyday lives. Wherever we are, familial affection is always warmness. Often we make time for our family or other loved ones, but we neglect our family. We should spend more time with our family. We deliberately shoot some specific scenes to express changing of character’s feelings . For example, We shoot scene 2 which that Doris strongly resist the invitation from Grandma in order to show that Doris disliked Grandma’s house and believed that’s kind of time wasting. Also, we shoot scene 6 that Doris began to regret and promised Grandma to visit her in spring break. Through this experience, I have a profound understanding of teamwork and individual ability to work to succeed. I also found that I might have strong creativity. I mostly shoot this film. I had suggested tons of ideas for different scenes. I may need to improve the ability of video editing and learn how to use an application to it, so that I can also help Catherine to perfect the video. What’s more, our group has never discussed who are going to be the leader. However, I seems like a leader because our group members always ask for my opinions and staffs to do next. It all happened organically. I believe that I am trustful and have strong leadership.
