Element Sway

Ask – The questions that I needed to ask were:

  • Who and how was mercury discovered?
  • How was mercury used?
  • What is mercury’s atomic mass and number?
  • What is mercury’s melting, boiling and freezing point?
  • What are some common uses of mercury?

Acquire – Here are the tools I used to gather my information.

  • google
  • britannica.com
  • photos from sway

Analyze – Here is how I got my information and cited my sources.

I got my information from trusted websites. I checked multiple websites to make sure my information was correct. When I got my information, I wrote it in the sway. I got my my photos from the sway and I cited all of the pictures I used.

Apply – This is how I cited my info.

After I found my information, I made sure to copy the link. When I found my pictures in sway, I copied the link at the bottom.

Assess –  Here is how the product and process went.

For my sway I think I could have added more information or pictures. But there are only so many pictures I could find. I followed every step in the sheet, and make sure I did everything right. I learned a lot about mercury. This assignment helped me understand the element even more. This will help me in the future.

HCE 9- English Write

Banksy wanted Clacton-on-Sea to confront racism – instead it confronted him | Banksy | The GuardianThese grouchy group of pigeons aim their anger towards the swallow by excluding the bird out, to get the last worm. This is a big sign of not including others. This picture tells a story that the African swallow came to migrate but as he comes the pigeons, who you would think to be on the side of the road eating garbage are now the ones thinking they are the bigger person but once they see a newcomer, they start to get greedy and want to hog everything for themselves. The artist clearly made use of the wall textures showing that on the side of the pigeon its all glossy and clean, no hard bumps. On the side of the swallow the wall is bumpy and rough. That shows that the pigeon’s life may not be hard, and it is a smooth road ahead, but as far as the swallow, he has got some rocky roads ahead of him. The posture of the birds shows who has the power in this picture. The pigeons are tall with their chest open whilst the swallow is scrawnier and looking down and away from them. As you can tell by the signs that the pigeons are trying to shoo him out by saying “go back to Africa”, “Migrants not welcome” and “keep off our worms”. The Swallow is looking back at them thinking he should leave. The colors also play a big role in this as well, by showing that the swallow is a nice colorful bird, and the pigeons are just boring grey birds. The angle shows you the comparison between how much birds there are on the left side and on the right side. The artist did a great job showing what its like to be exclusive.

Monologue Video Christopher’s Mistake.

  • could not think. Father was holding the book that I was currently writing, The Mystery on Who Killed Wellington. I must have not I taken it with me while I was in the kitchen. My mistake has allowed him to find it. Father told me to give up on writing and forget about the book, but I could not. Once I start something, I must see it through. I cannot just let it go and “forget about it”. In my confusion and worry it was difficult to create a sensible explanation. Father started to yell. He only ever raises his voice when he is infuriated beyond words can describe. To my disbelief, he then suddenly grabbed my arm. He has never done this before. Mother on the other hand, being the short-tempered person she is, has hit me few times. But father was not like mother. He was very patient and was not angered easily. I do not like it when people touch me. So, the only sound solution I could piece together was to hit him. Father’s grip tightened. I then proceeded to hit him again. I cannot exactly recall what happened at that moment. Suddenly, I was laying on the floor. My right hand was covered with blood and my head was pounding. I looked up at father to notice that he was holding my book in one of his hands. The book was bent in half and the pages were torn. His sleeve was ripped and there was a scratch on his neck. He was panting loudly. After a few minutes passed, he walked through the back door and went outside. I heard him lift the dust bin and throw something in. When he came inside, he locked the door and stood in the kitchen with his eyes closed.

    Reflection Monologue.

For my Monologue I chose Christopher because he is the main character and there a lot of scenes that have a lot of emotion and would describe him well. I tried making the avatar as I imagined him because they did not describe how he looked like, so I envisioned him to look like this. I wish the avatar were not so fit because I imagine Christopher to be slouchy, skinny but not fit. If you look at the full body profile, you see that I have added his rat, Toby. I had trouble adding the dialogue because my laptop would make it muffled, I tried the best I could but it didn’t turn out the way I wanted it too. Christopher takes care of his rat and brings him everywhere so I thought it would be cool to add him. This scene I chose is really heated and I chose it because there is a lot going through his mind at that moment. Another reason I chose this scene is because it plays a key part to the book. This scene is where Christopher’s dad finds his book he is writing about Wellington, they both get mad and Christopher hits him. It shows a lot of emotion and what Christopher thinks when he is going through such moments.
