Fractured poetry bkC

my 3 words: Backpack, dreaming, special

sentence: its been with me for most of my life.

phrase: evidence of my hard work

I chose those 3 words because i thought they sounded funny together. I chose the phrase because in the sentence I was talking about my first paycheck and how i worked really hard for it, and in the end it made me feel quite proud of myself. I also chose the sentence because its a fact, this particular wallet has been with me for a very long time.

The takeaway i get from this exercise is that you don’t need to think that hard when creating poetry.

poem:

it’s been with me most of my life

In my backpack, my back pocket, I’ve backtracked to find it

all of my experiences I’ve shared with my wallet

English 11 Relfections

During my time in English 11 we did a lot of things, from essays to debates. One of my favorite things include the debate about censorship because I feel like I did very well in that and I really enjoyed it. But mainly throughout the semester I only really learned more about poems, I cannot recall anything else. We also did a unit on Identity, and don’t get me wrong I have nothing against it, I just felt that it wasn’t really a unit that belonged in English class. I really enjoyed our novel study especially because we were given a very interesting novel, Fahrenheit 451, and I actually was excited to read it every time we got. Other than the identity unit I had no issues with anything else.
