      BASIC POACHED EGGS WITH HAM

2 – 4  large EGGS, cold 
Pinch  Salt and pepper 

Yields: 2 servings 

 

  1. HEAT 2 to 3 inches of water in large saucepan or deep skillet to boiling. ADJUST heat to keep liquid simmering gently.
  2. BREAK eggs one at a time into custard cup or saucer. Holding dish close to surface, SLIP egg into water.
  3. COOK eggs until whites are completely set and yolks begin to thicken but are not hard, 3 to 5 minutes. Do not stir.LIFT eggs from water with slotted spoon. DRAIN in spoon or on paper towels. TRIM any rough edges if desired. SPRINKLE with salt and pepper. SERVE immediately.

Egg for lunch

      Curried Egg Salad Sandwich On Challah Bread

  •        1/3 cup (75 mL)mayonnais 
  •       1 tsp (5 mL)curry powder 
  •       3/4 tsp (4 mL)salt, or to taste 
  •       2green chilies, finely chopped 
  •       3hard-boiled eggs, cubed 
  •       4challah bread (egg bread), sliced 
  •       2romaine lettuce leaves 

 

  1. In a medium sized bowl, combine mayonnaise, curry powder, salt and green chilies. Gently fold in hard boiled eggs and combine. 
  2. Arrange two bread slices on a plate with romaine lettuce on one side. Top with ¼ of curried egg salad mixture. Continue making sandwiches with the remaining bread and egg salad mixture.

        Egg with ramen 

 

  • A brief description of each recipe 
  1.        Place the egg and water in a pot.Pour enough water into the pot to cover the egg by 1 inch (2.5 cm). Set the pot on the stove. 
  2. Bring the water to a boil and turn off the heat. Heat the pot over high so the water begins to boil. Turn the heat off, but leave the pot on the burner. 
  3. Rest the egg in the water for 10 minutes. The egg will finish cooking in the hot water even with the heat off. Turning off the heat will prevent the egg from overcooking and becoming tough. 
  4. Cook the ramen. Once the water in the pot is boiling again, add the ramen noodles. Boil them for 3 minutes or until they’re as soft as you like. For soupier noodles, leave the water in the pot or drain the noodles and return them to the pot, if you like mainly noodles. 
  5. Season and serve the ramen with a hard-boiled egg. Stir any seasonings or vegetables into the noodles. Slice the hard-boiled egg in half and add it to the ramen. Serve the ramen while it’s still hot.
