Math 10 Week 3 Blogpost

A question I found difficult this week was this following one:











The first time I tried answering this I did this:



When I saw that the answer I got wasn’t one of the multiple choice answers, I was confused. After we had a discussion In class about that question I noticed that you have to realize that a right triangle has one 90 degree angle and two acute angles that add up to 90 degrees. 

After I found out that the other angle was 54 degrees I plugged it in my right triangle and then started solving:

Integral (Negative) Exponents:

For example: 3-1 

At first I thought this was going to be really difficult, but a negative exponent just means that 3-1 just means 1/3. The 1/3 is equal to 3-1.
