Advertising Target Markets

In 2004, a company named Ikea was advertising themselves to show that you can make a life difference, and have some new life experience by going to Ikea. I think the target audience for this ad is people of all ages that like adventures, or people with less exciting life experience and want to make a difference about it because those people are most likely do not have time or did not think of putting effort on life and just do what they do daily or what they are good at. They never think about it or try to go travel, explore in different places around the world, and do new and challenging things until they saw this ad and realized that how much things they missed in life and that they should be like the man in the commercial. Some advertising techniques that were being used in the ad are plain folk, emotional appeals, and transference. The way this ad main character is a normal old man and not any celebrity, famous person, or expert which makes one of the techniques is plain folk. It is also emotional appeals and transference because the overall video is to bring positive energy and includes a sense of strong feeling when the old man is traveling to a lot of places and did things he never did before.
