This week I learned about scientific notation. Scientific notation is a way to represent very large number or very small numbers using less digits. To do so you take a decimal number between 1 and 10 then multiply it by 10.

Like so:

For positive exponents the decimal moves to the right and for negative exponents the decimal moves to the left.

*It is not always the number of zeros*
