How would a human cope/adapt if they lost their sense of touch, sight, and hearing in order to lead a healthy lifestyle?

The main ideas
In this article, it is focusing on a study shown on deaf people and people who can hear. The study has proven that people who are deaf are more likely to have more activity going on, on the left hemisphere compared to hearing adults, have it more on the right side. The reason for this is because deaf people tend to “display a unique pattern of activity in the brain’s visual system” which in fact strengthens a deaf person’s peripheral vision, which uses more of the left hemisphere. Both hearing and deaf adults can easily see the same when it is a simple task of something in front of them with central vision, but when it comes to peripheral vision there is a great difference.
What I learned
I never knew that deaf people had stronger peripheral vision, I never truly considered the fact, that they need it to be stronger so that they can understand what is going on. They can not hear people so being able to look at someone while they are talking, but also what their hand movements are doing, is something that they must do on a daily basis. I also learned more about the left and right hemisphere and why it is that certain sides are stronger in certain people.

Touch is probably the most important sense that a human has. Without it, our lives would be extremely difficult to navigate. Our bodies have learned that our touch is crucial to living and has helped us to not hurt our selves. For example, if you touch something hot, your hand will pull away. Our sensory neurons will react immediately so that we do not damage ourselves even more. We also need physical loving touch to survive. If you are a young child you need to constantly be given hugs so that you can feel loved, because it is possible that if you are not loved enough at a young age, you could die. Overall the sense of touch is key to our daily life.
What I learned
I learned that touch is extremely important and if we didn’t have the sense of touch, our lives would be very difficult to navigate. You wouldn’t know to pull your hand away in simple scenarios such as touching hot water, you would let your hand sit there and burn your hand. Thanks to our sensory neurons, we do not have to deal with this problem. I also learned that you need to be touched with love at a young age because if you weren’t, it could damage you later on in life. I knew that affection was important, but not nearly this extent.
