- How may your digital footprint affect your future opportunities? Give at least two examples
If I have good qualities in my digital footprint it could give me an advantage to future job opportunities by getting me the job instead of someone else, compared to if I have a poor footprint it could be a reason I don’t get the job I want or possibly get me fired from my current employment.
2. Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe.
- Don’t share/post information or pictures I don’t feel proud about.
- Set guidelines for myself to ensure I don’t make bad choices which could show up on the internet or possibly my criminal record.
- If you are going to share information, display your good qualities and aspects about yourself.
- To be safe, don’t share personal information to the world such as your address or personal issues.
- What information did you learn that you would pass on to another student? How would you go about telling them?
We may not think that our footprints can be easily found but they can, and we might not think they matter that much because we are at a young age and most of us aren’t looking for jobs, but one mistake at this age could really impact our future.
If the topic ever came up I would explain the facts that I just shared, or I could give them the link to my blog to look over.
