Bard in the classroom

Some things that I liked about the bard on the beach presentation are that they got us up doing stuff and not sitting there listening to them talk all class, I also liked the activity where someone form the class had to act like they where the king and all lower class people had to please them or they would “die”. Some things that I didn’t like about bard in the beach was the long warm up that could be used for better things, I also didn’t learn much about much ado about nothing, it felt more like a acting class then actually learning about the play. It would of also helped if they could of shown us a video or gave us a sheet that let us know what the play was about instead of just going right into acting out the scenes. Some things I learnt from this was the 4 genres of shakespearien plays and they are tragedy, history, romance, and comedy. The presentation didn’t really teach us much about Shakespeare except for some of the language and some of the character names from much ado about nothing. My favourite activitys form this where when we had to make a scene that we where given and the one with the king and the lower class people. I didn’t learn much at the play at all except the names of some characters we didn’t even learn about what the plays name meant which would help to understand the play I had search it up to learn that it means a lot of worrying about gossip. The play is based in the genre of comedy because it is more of a light hearted play

May 14th 1944 me and my family where sent to the Auschwitz death camp had heard about the camps but I did not know of what went down in these camps until I got there and saw for myself the horrors that went down in this evil camp, we where forced to sleep shoulder to shoulder on bunk beds with no blankets or no pillows and the only food we where given was a loaf of bread and water after a day of work. I was set to help work on building new barracks for the nazis, we would work all night and day and only got about 2 hours of sleep a day which was hard to even get because of how uncomfortable the beds we were given are. After a month of work I finally had enough of it, I got a group of people and we started making a plan to dig a hole under the fence at night Time and run away from the camp and get to somewhere safe. During the day Time we would start digging under in the very corner f the fences, at night Time we quietly headed to the hole when we got out we could hear guards yelling but could not understand it. The guards started shooting at us and hit one of us we kept running until we where far enough from the camp. After that day I joined the Russian army with one goal to infiltrate all the camps and save as many Jews as I could. It took us 5 camps to finally find any one alive at the camps, I was so happy to see my own kind still alive, and I found my family at the camp still alive I still till this day am grateful that I was able to find my family because not many people could get back with there family after the end of the war

Analysis
This is a fictional memoir based off of historical events written first person about a Jewish man who was sent to the Auschwitz concentration/death camp and lost his family and he has to struggle the hard conditions that comes with the concentration camps like work all day, little food daily, and horrible sleeping conditions. After escaping the camp he made it his goal to liberate all the death camps with the Russian army and find some of his own people that haven’t been killed off by the ss during the liberation, and find his family from the concentration camps.

The Ghettos Portrayed in “The Cage”

img_0799Tyler.L

The struggles for the Jews living in the ghettos that I found from reading the cage, are most people living in the ghettos where scared, depressed, starving and where hopeless waiting to die from starvation or to get shipped out to do work at the nazi death camps. When Jewish people got sick they would usually kill them because there was no doctors to help anyone, they where forced to stay in the ghetto and they couldn’t leave or they would be shot immediately or brought to a death camp. The portions of food that the Jews in the ghetto where given are only one loaf of bread a week and some would have to trade there bread for other things in the black market like vitamins and clothes. The children living in the ghettos where forced to mature and become fathers and mothers to their brothers and sisters because their parents would get taken away to a concentration camp. The Jews weren’t allowed to have education so they would make secret groups to study, and secret library’s because the nazis banned all books. and if they got caught by any nazis there would be very harsh punishments

The badge was a yellow star made out of cloth with the word Jude in the middle of the star which was a German word that meant Jew

(Prisoners being freed from the camps)

-explanation

I wrote the this poem based off the journal entry by Charles V. Ferree about his experience of liberating a nazi concentration camp during the Second World War for the poem I got nouns verbs and adjectives to create it. I wrote this poem to tribute all the people who where murdered in the camps during the war

I was a first lieutenant in the 9th Air Force

With the purpose of flying soldiers from headquarters

To the various camps as they were being liberated

We landed on a makeshift airstrip

And we were taken into the first Nazi concentration camp

welcomed by the sound of loud gunfire and loud screeching screams

There was rotting dead bodies all over the place

and the clean-up hadn’t even started yet

We headed toward the town of Dachau

I arrive to see dead bodies everywhere

And people so skinny they look almost like skeletons

all these Jewish people getting murdered

no matter how young or how old

The short story Harrison Bergeron is about a perfect America where everyone is equal to one another and if you are better at something you will be forced to wear handicaps like scrap metal ear transmissions and face modifications/masks. Looking at the 13 amendments America has turned into a terrible place where no one can excel at anything and it is ruled by people who don’t get what being equal really meant. In #208 it states that you are not allowed to leave the country which represents that the leaders of the country don’t want anyone escaping to live a better life somewhere else
