Egg Lab

Recipe #1: scrambled  egg tacos,

  1. Warm taco shells according to package directions.
  2. Meanwhile, whisk eggs, milk and taco seasoning. Spray large non-stick skillet with cooking spray. Heat skillet over medium heat.
  3. Pour in egg mixture. As mixture begins to set, gently move spatula across bottom and side of skillet to form large, soft curds. Cook until eggs are thickened and no visible liquid remains.
  4. Divide egg mixture among taco shells. Garnish each taco with 1/4 cup (50 mL) lettuce, 1 tbsp (15 mL) tomato, 2 tbsp (30 mL) cheese, and 1 tbsp (15 mL) each salsa and sour cream, if desired.

Recipe #2: traditional egg tart,

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cut puff pastry into small round circles and press into a metal tart pan.
  3. Mix eggs, cream, sugar and 5 ½ tbsp (85 mL) of water in a mixing bowl.
  4. Pour mixture into tart shells, and bake for 8 minutes.
  5. Serve immediately.

Recipe #3: farmhouse breakfast cup,

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease 12 muffin cups.
  2. Whisk together eggs, salt, and pepper; set aside.
  3. Place the desired combination of fillings into each muffin cup. Pour enough egg mixture until almost reaches the top of the cup.
  4. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes or until set.

I will be making the farmhouse breakfast cup with a side of bacon and hash browns. I want to do this recipie because from the pictures it looks tasty and it’s not that hard to bake.

The Lab:

I did my lab on saturday the 21st of october for breakfast

The ingredience :

In this image i am cooking the bacon and hashbrowns together.

in this image, I was chopping the tomato to put in the egg cups

in this image, I was chopping up the spinach to put into the egg cups

In this image, I was about to put the egg cups in the oven to be baked

The cups were almost ready in the oven

and this is how everything turned out in the end. The cups were really delicious, I and my mom liked them. they had bacon, spinach, tomato, and cheese in them. I think I put a bit too much garlic in the hashbrowns and that’s what I would probably change if I were to do this again.
