In English class we read a book which had a moral about gender equality, so we where told to find an article about gender equality and review it. The article I chose talks about the difference in pay between the genders or, the pay gap. It shows that for every dollar a man makes a woman would make only 77 cents. A lot of people use this as a base for the pay gap, but this scale does not account for what careers each gender chooses to pursue so it is not as accurate as you would think. When you look at what was reported by PayScale, they looked at the pay difference between men and women who performed the same job and it turns out that the gap is not nearly as large. In the end, yes there is a difference in pay and that is a problem it is about 4.3%, but this article is there to tell you that it is not nearly as large so you can have more information which is always important.
