Perfect Person

What is my version of a perfect human being? Well my definition of a perfect person is someone who is willing to do what is necessary, someone who is nice, intelligent, generous, and has a personality of their own. Really it is impossible for somebody to be perfect, but you can get close, but even then it is really hard to even be considered as a perfect person.

Kelly Technology TED Talk Reflection

         The question, “Has technology gone too far?”, comes up all the time, and it really is an interesting subject to discuss, there are many different arguments you can make for, and also many arguments you can make against technology. Overall technology will always be good because, technology gives us knowledge, it makes life much easier, and even the most dangerous things will always find a place they belong. As humans, we all have an unavoidable urge to obtain all the knowledge we can, and without the technology we have, it will not be possible, and if it weren’t for knowledge, we wouldn’t really have any place in this world at all. Why do we have technology? Humans use technology simply because it makes life easier, with technology we can communicate much more easily, we can get from one place to another very quickly, and also the food we eat id brought to us by technology, so without technology everyone’s lives would be much harder. Arguably the biggest argument against the advancement of technology is that it will eventually destroy us. In the TED Talk we were given the example of, nuclear energy. It was invented purely for destructive purposes, and that was the original use of nuclear energy, but instead of using it only for bombs, we started using it in power plants as a much better energy source than what we had before. In the end, without technology all our lives would be unimaginably different, and I believe with the advancement of technology, we will be able to solve all our current problems, and life would be much better for us.

Trigonometry

In a right triangle if you’re trying to find an angle, the ratio of an angle, or the length of a side, there are three ratios that you can use.
First the sine ration. The sine ratio is the length of the side opposite to the angle divided by the length of the hypotenuse of the triangle. Secondly, you have the cosine ratio. The side ratio is the length of the side adjacent to the angle divided by the length of the hypotenuse. And lastly, the tangent ratio. The tangent ratio is the length of the side opposite to the angle divided by the length of the side adjacent to the angle.220px-rtriangle-svg

Measurement

Today in math class we learned about measurement. We talked about what systems we use today, mostly the metric system and the imperial system, but we also talked about referents that are used too, and that where also used a long time ago, for example we talked about paces, and hands. We also learned that the first unit of measurement known to be used was the cubit, and it was used back in Ancient Egypt.

Graphs of Exponential Functions

Explanation

I was in group 4 so we needed to solve and graph the equation “y = 3^-x”, where x was equal to -10-10. The distances between the points represent the differences of what “y” is equal to when using the different powers. We also needed to compare our graph to the graph of group 3 who had the equation “y = 3^x”. Both the graphs where opposites of each other, so they where both flipped on the y-axis.                                                                                     win_20160927_14_28_45_pro

What did I learn?

I learned about the similarities with equations that use the same base, but different exponents. I also learned how inverting the exponent will affect how the graph will look, and how to identify the similarities between two graphs.
