Dis-connected

Dis-connected is a clay mask that is an exploration of self. While making this project, I struggled to find authentic representations of my artistic values, so I began with my automotive side, my hands-on thinking, and my connectedness to the car-enthusiast community.   I chose to represent the automotive side of me by using gear imagery and dark metallic colours.  My hands-on thinking was incorporated into the process of my mask-making.  However, I felt it difficult to do a deep investigation into my inner self, which left me feeling disconnected from the process and materials of making this mask.
